About

Finding the difference that makes a difference.

Human dilemmas are often complex and require multi-leveled solutions. Sometimes concrete strategies and techniques are needed, for example, how to manage a panic attack, or deal with those unhelpful repetitive thoughts that are an obstacle to sleep. Sometimes motivation is the goal; creating an emotional attachment to a behavior that you want to do, know you should do, but can’t seem to manage to do consistently enough. Sometimes a broader perspective is needed to help recapture that sense of aliveness. What is my purpose at this point in my life? What is meaningful to me? What are the core values I want to guide my focus and action? What are the core relationships that have the biggest impact on my quality of life? What are the patterns that govern my life? What do I want them to be, and how to I approach making this change? I earned my masters degree from the University of New Hampshire and my doctorate from Purdue University. I use empirically supported interventions within a biopsychosocial framework. My expertise is in developing intervention strategies for a broad array of problems and clients’ personal styles. You’re the expert on your priorities and knowing what will work for you and what will not. I will help you figure out which level of intervention is needed, and we’ll develop a treatment plan accordingly. We’ll adapt evidence-based principles and practices to fit in the context of your life. I currently offer Telemed appointments on nights and weekends.
